ANI LE DODI VE DODI LI - A DAILY PRAYER FOR THE MONTHE OF ELUL

By Rav Berland # 1268

TO FEEL HOW HASHEM RUNS AFTER ME TO HELP ME AND SENDS ME HINTS TO THE PLACES I FALL

“Prayer to be said every day of the month of Elul”

Ani Le Dodi, Ve Dodi Li - “I am for my beloved and my beloved is for me”.

Master of the Universe, who can do anything, may I merit to fulfill the verse, "Ani Le'Dodi, Ve Dodi Li" (“I am for my beloved and my beloved is for me”) and may I feel how HaShem runs after me, to help me.

Please HaShem, “I erred like a lost sheep, seek after Your servant, because I did not forget Your Mitzvot (commandments).”

Seek me, search after me, and send me Your hints, in every place to which I fell,

“Because HaShem will not abandon His people, and will not leave His inheritance, because until righteousness judgment shall return, and after it all the straight of heart”.

A prayer for the month of Elul

A powerful prayer to be recited everyday during the month of Elul
by Rabbi Natan Talmid of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov

Ani LeDodi Ve’Dodi Li – (I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine) – Father in heaven, full of mercy, help me and give me the merit to become closer to you always and especially during the month of Elul.

And you with your great mercy will open your hand of kindness to accept the Shabim (the ones who repent and do Teshuvah)  and seek closeness to you. So that we can continue to rectify all the Tikunim that are possible by the great powers of Yichudim (Unity) and Kavanot (Intentions & meditations) of the month of Elul.

Father, please help me to be cleansed (Purified) from the heavens from all of my sins and may I merit to do complete Repentence (Teshuvah Shelema)  for all of my Avonot (my sins).

Father, bless me that I should always find you wherever I seek you in every Makom, when I am in a high spiritual place or unfortunately also when I spiritually fall to a low place.

Ani Le’Dodi Ve’Dodi Li – I am for my beloved and my beloved is mine – Amen!

Psalms Chapter 27

א  לְדָוִד:    יְהוָה, אוֹרִי וְיִשְׁעִי--מִמִּי אִירָא;
1 A Psalm of David. HaShem is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
HaShem is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evil-doers approached me to eat up my flesh,
even mine anguish and my foes, they stumbled and fell.
3 Even if an army host would encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; even if a war would rise up against me, even then will I keep my trust in place.
שִׁבְתִּי בְּבֵית-יְהוָה,    כָּל-יְמֵי חַיַּי;
4 One thing have I asked of HaShem, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of HaShem all the days of my life, to behold the graciousness of HaShem, and to visit early in His temple (His Heichal).
5 Because He will conceal me in His Sukah (His Tent) in the day of evil; He will hide me in the secrete part of His tent; He will lift me up upon a rock.
ו  וְעַתָּה יָרוּם רֹאשִׁי, עַל אֹיְבַי סְבִיבוֹתַי,    וְאֶזְבְּחָה בְאָהֳלוֹ, זִבְחֵי תְרוּעָה;
6 And now my head will be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; and I will offer Zebachim (offerings) in His Tent, I will offer Him Zevachim of trumpet-sound;
I will sing, yea, with Zemirot will I sing praises unto HaShem.
7 Hear, O HaShem, when I call with my voice, and be gracious unto me, and answer me.
8 In Your behalf my heart hath said: 'Seek My face'; Your face, HaShem, will I seek.
9 Do not hide your face from me; Do not push away your servant in anger;  You have been my help; do not cast me off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 Because even if my father and my mother have forsaken me, HaShem will take me up.
11 Teach me your way, O HaShem; and lead me in an even path, because of them that lie in wait for me.
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries; for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out violence.
13 What if I had not believed that I will look upon the goodness of HaShem in the land of the living!--
14 Put your hope HaShem; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yea, put your hope in HaShem.
